Police officer dies during coronavirus lockdown after motorbike crashes into car

A police officer has died on duty after colliding into a car during a chase yesterday. The South Yorkshire Police officer, 40, was chasing a silver BMW, which failed to stop for police when his motorbike crashed into a Toyota.

He was pronounced dead shortly after the accident, which occurred at 1pm according to South Yorkshire Police. A 59-year-old man who was driving the blue Toyota Avensis on Nether Lane, in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, has been taken to hospital and is being treated for minor injuries, reports Yorkshire Live.
