Pupils and staff have been evacuated from a north London secondary school following a bomb threat. Officers arrived at Stoke Newington School in Hackney just before 12pm on Thursday and were doing a sweep of the building to determine whether the threat was legitimate.
Worried parents arrived to pick up their children. Video posted on social media shows students and staff walking past police cars parked outside the school, where an area was taped off by officers.
Students were taken to a park near the school as police investigated the threat. Hackney Council later announced the school, which has about 1,630 pupils, was closing early for the day.
