Sign up for the latest from M.E.N. political editor Jennifer Williams Care home workers could be legally required to get a coronavirus vaccine under plans being considered by the government, Matt Hancock has confirmed.
The health secretary said a decision on the plans is yet to be taken after The Telegraph reported that prime minister Boris Johnson and Mr Hancock had agreed to the proposal.
According to the paper, a leaked document submitted to the “Covid O” sub-committee of Cabinet revealed details of the plans.
The report warned that a “large” number of social care workers may quit if the change is made, while there could be successful lawsuits on human rights grounds, The Telegraph reports.
