Personal Independence Payment (PIP) may be something you have heard of, but do not know much about, or perhaps thought you would not be eligible.
There are currently 273,899 people across Scotland claiming PIP - an increase of 7,789 (2.7%) since the beginning of April. The total number of women claiming the benefit during that period increased by 4,412 (3%) to 149,709 while the number of men claiming rose by 3,377 (2.8%) to 124,190.
Which means during lockdown, more people used it as an opportunity to make a claim and start the application process - which can take up to 12 weeks from start to finish.
