Perthshire park to be named after judge who presided over the Stephen Lawrence murder public inquiry

Sir William Alan Macpherson of Cluny and Blairgowrie died aged 94 in February this year. A Blairgowrie park will be renamed after him in recognition of the work he did in the town and in the local community as a whole.

At a Perth and Kinross Council committee meeting this week, councillors unanimously backed a request to change the name of Blairgowrie’s Riverside Park to Sir William Macpherson Park.
