LoCash had a distinct advantage on any other Stagecoach artists who might ever have been tempted to ask the touring Beach Boys to charter a Palm Springs flight: They actually named their new single “Beach Boys.” Mike Love, Bruce Johnston and three members of their touring band first came out midway into LoCasg’s performance to add their harmonies to the new single — the recorded version of which they also harmonize on.

There’s a new Beach Boys documentary coming to Disney+

The Beach Boys is coming to Disney+ next month.The Beach Boys is described in a press release as “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionised pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come.“The documentary traces the band from humble family beginnings and features never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews.”Interviews include ones with band members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston, as well as musicians including Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder and Don Was. Former members Carl and Dennis Wilson, Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar are also participating in the documentary.The film is directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny and was written by Mark Monroe.

Jeffrey Foskett, Longtime Member of Beach Boys and Brian Wilson Touring Bands, Dies at 67

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Jeffrey Foskett, a musician familiar to Beach Boys fans for more than four decades as a presence in the touring bands led by both Brian Wilson and Mike Love, died Monday at age 67. He had been battling anaplastic thyroid cancer. Foskett, who was deemed the “vice principal of the Beach Boys” by its core members, was the rare musician who found favor in all of that group’s sometimes competing camps over the decades.
