Doobie Brothers, George Clinton, Beach Boys’ Mike Love Among 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductees

Funk innovator George Clinton, The Doobie Brothers‘ Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons and The Beach Boys‘ Mike Love are among this year’s inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Also set for induction: Country music songwriter Ashley Gorley, who has written hits for Post Malone, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood; Grammy-winning Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, who produced hits for, among many others, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, George Michael and Mariah Carey; and “Build Me Up Buttercup” hitmaker Tony Macaulay.

The induction ceremony is slated for Thursday, June 12, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Additional special award honorees will be announced soon.
