BBC has released a series of first look images of This Town, the new drama series from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.Set in 1981, the six-part series centres on a band’s formation against a backdrop of violence, and is described as a love letter to Birmingham and Coventry, featuring fierce new music.The cast is led by a number of rising stars, including Levi Brown (Loss and Return), Jordan Bolger (The Woman King), Ben Rose (Line of Duty) and Eve Austin (You) as its four young leads.This Town also stars Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Nicholas Pinnock (Marcella), and David Dawson (My Policeman).In the first look images, the one above shows leads Ben Rose as Bardon Quinn, Jordan Bolger as Gregory Williams and Levi Brown as Dante Williams walking down a street.Another image shows Brown as Dante Williams in a record store, and in a third photo he’s pictured sharing a moment with Austin’s Jeannie Keefe in a dressing room.Dockery’s Estella and Pinnock’s Deuce Williams are also pictured getting ready to perform. Billie Eilish has announced an OVERHEATED event in London in order to help tackle the ongoing climate crisis.According to a press release, “Following last year’s highly coveted, multi-day climate-focused event in London, OVERHEATED will return on Wednesday, August 30 to Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace in West London from 10am to 5pm.”Climate activists, musicians along with other leading voices will be in attendance for a day which will be “filled with discussion, community building and resources to help tackle the climate crisis, roller skating and delicious plant-based food” from Neat Burger. Eilish will also be making an appearance.The event will be hosted by BBC’s Abbie McCarthy and will feature panels with special guests such as Earthrise CEO Alice Eady, fashion entrepreneur Samata Pattinson, and climate activists Dominique Palmer and Tori Tsui along with others.Tickets for OVERHEATED will go on sale on August 16 at 10am BST.

Yossman Mercury Studios, the production company behind recent Abbey Road Studios doc “If These Walls Could Sing,” have unveiled their new feature, about composer Felix Mendelssohn’s genius sister Fanny. Although Felix, who is best known for writing “The Wedding March,” is still world-renowned 175 years after his death, his sister Fanny was also a prolific musician, composing 450 works – including her own wedding music – before she died in her early 40s. “Fanny: The Other Mendelssohn” tells her story. Sheila Hayman (“Mendelssohn, The Nazis and Me”) directs the doc, which also stars classical artist Isata Kanneh-Mason bringing Mendelssohn’s works to life. Filming has taken place in Berlin, New York, London, Oxford and Buckingham Palace, where Kanneh-Mason played Queen Victoria’s piano.
