Succession fans are making the same joke after Lachlan Murdoch was appointed the new chairman of News Corp and Fox Corporation.As announced on Thursday (September 21) in a note to employees, media mogul Rupert Mordoch said he was stepping down as chairman of both companies, with his eldest son Lachlan set to take over.Rupert Murdoch, who will transition into the role of chairman emeritus for both firms in mid-November, wrote in a note (via the Guardian): “For my entire professional life, I have been engaged daily with news and ideas, and that will not change. But the time is right for me to take on different roles.”Murdoch has been married four times and has six children, the majority of which have followed their father’s footsteps in working for the family business.Succession creator Jesse Armstrong previously confirmed the HBO series is partially based on the Murdochs, along with other media mogul families like the Redstones and Mercers. But did a GQ editor’s relationship with Warner Bros. play a role in the softening and ultimate removal of the story?  GQ editor-in-chief Will Welch is producing a movie at Warner Bros. titled “The Great Chinese Art Heist,” which is based on a 2018 GQ article by Alex W. Palmer. Jon M. Chu (“Crazy Rich Asians”) is attached to direct and produce the film, which chronicles an audacious European museum crime wave that targeted Chinese antiquities. The project already has a script in place by Ken Cheng, Jessica Gao and Jimmy O. Yang. Sources say Welch was involved in the discussions surrounding the removal of Bailey’s initial story and made the call to pull the revamped story, which ran some 500 words shorter than the published version. Those same sources say Warner Bros. Discovery complained about the initial story to two GQ editors, one of whom was Welch.

I knew how it was going to end because I knew Logan had already set it up.

Succession fans have shared a bunch of references to Peep Show from the HBO series.Peep Show was co-created by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, who also collaborated together on Channel 4 comedy Fresh Meat. Succession series finale thinking of Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook) as some kind of tragic feminist hero, I have to wonder if you, like Logan Roy, have a hard time .  lamenting Shiv’s demotion from “contender” to “wife-of” as a betrayal of ideals, or which frame her last-minute change of vote as principled bravery, flatten a layered female character into a women’s empowerment archetype—which she absolutely is not. This content can also be viewed on the site it from.Shiv is every bit as striving, corrupt, fallible, weak, and ultimately unserious (just as human, in other words) as her brothers.
