The show will air on Channel 4, who confirmed the news via press release. HBO show Succession, Jesse Armstrong, has announced his next project, an original movie set around a financial crisis.The film is still being written, but the network is fast-tracking it to start production later this year.Armstrong is writing the as-yet-untitled film, which he will also produce alongside Succession executive producer Frank Rich. Details about the plot are being kept under wraps, but Deadline reports that it follows the story of four friends who convene during a dramatic international financial crisis.Succession ran from 2018 to 2023, telling the story of media mogul Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and the fight among his family to take over from him when he announces his retirement.The show achieved 75 Emmy nominations and 19 wins, including three Outstanding Drama Series awards.

David Mitchell and Robert Webb’s sitcom Back is set to receive an American remake at the hands of HBO.The show premiered on Channel 4 in 2017, and was followed by a second season in 2021, following lengthy delays from Webb’s heart surgery and then COVID-19.Mitchell played Stephen Nichols in the show, a 42-year-old who is set to take over the family pub in Stroud, Gloucestershire after the death of his father.
