The roll call of this year’s 182 attendees was read by Devon Franklin, a member of the Board of Governors, who began with Jamie Lee Curtis and ended with Guillermo del Toro. Aside from Yang addressing the Will Smith controversy at the top of the event to the attendees (without saying his name), more than 200 guests gathered to celebrate the cinema’s achievements from 2022. Of them, 182 were official nominees for this year’s ceremony, the largest turnout in history. Some of the notable names missing were best actress nominees Ana de Armas (“Blonde”) and Andrea Riseborough (“To Leslie”), supporting actor Barry Keoghan (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), producer James Cameron (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and original song contenders Rihanna (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”), Lady Gaga (“Top Gun: Maverick”) and David Byrne (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”).

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are returning for the fourth installment of Bad Boys.The news comes one year after Will, 54, slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars over his joke about wife Jada Pinkett Smith's hair.The fourth film in the franchise was confirmed by Sony Pictures, according to Variety.On Tuesday morning, Will shared an Instagram video announcing the news - with Martin, 57, making an appearance in the clip. Gregory Allen Howard, the first African American screenwriter for a $100 million drama with Remember The Titans, died today in Miami, Florida following a brief illness. He was 70 and his death was confirmed by his publicist.

On Saturday, Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer clarified that two-time Oscar nominee Margot Robbie's female-led spin-off could still happen despite her recent comments otherwise.Last month, the Australian 32-year-old told Vanity Fair that she was developing a 'really cool' idea for the movie a 'while, ages ago' but 'I guess they don't want to do it.''We developed two scripts at once and the Margot Robbie script was a little further away,' the 79-year-old Emmy winner explained to TheWrap.

“Tony Scott set the bar very high with the first film and the aerial photography,” Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski says. “I had seen some videos that Navy aviators had done of their own training sequences by putting little GoPro cameras in their cockpit, and even though it was very low res and just one angle, it was more compelling to me than anything I had seen in any action film.”
