Pep Guardiola at heart of feisty bust-up after ball is booted in Jack Grealish's face
Pep Guardiola was right in the thick of it as Manchester City and Atletico Madrid stars almost came to blows in the final few minutes of their Champions League quarter-final clash on Tuesday night.Jack Grealish reacted furiously after having the ball booted at him moments after being felled near the touchline, as Atletico's Angel Correa punted the ball towards him at close-range.It then ricocheted off the England international's legs before clipping him in the face, and Grealish leapt to his feet in a rage, before players from both teams started rushing in - including City boss Guardiola, who was one of the first into the fire. After launching a short verbal tirade at his opponents, Guardiola recognised that Grealish's emotions might get the better of him as tempers continued to flare, and decided to drag the £100 million midfielder away from the ensuing melee.By that point, Atletico boss Diego Simeone had joined the scramble, though the typically brutish Argentine decided to act as peacemaker too, perhaps with one eye on the second leg.
