It’s a reference to that fact that Prince, after an elaborate sting pulled off by Axelrod and the core “Billions” ensemble, is left wiped out but for $100 million he invested with Black-owned banks a few years ago.

Damian Lewis is returning to the franchise and a multitude of spinoffs are being explored, but Billions could be set to end with its seventh season.

Damian Lewis is bringing back Bobby Axelrod as he sets his return to the Showtime series Billions for Season 7. Lewis will appear in 6 of the 12 episodes when the show premieres later this year.

Chris McCarthy has been speaking about a franchise strategy for Showtime since he took over the network a couple of months ago. That strategy will include expanding successful series with multiple spinoffs in the mold of the Yellowstone universe as the premium cable network starts its integration with Paramount+ and getting a new moniker, Paramount+ with Showtime.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt leads the ensemble as Kalanick with Jon Bass as Uber co-founder Garrett Camp and Kyle Chandler as venture capitalist Bill Gurley, Uma Thurman stands out with a fiery portrayal of Arianna Huffington. Ahead of Thurman’s debut in episode 4, “Boober,” airing Sunday, March 20, the actress opened up to ET’s Lauren Zima about transforming into the author and entrepreneur behind  who later joined Uber’s board of directors in a shrewd power play. “She plays a decisive role in this business thriller,” she says of the series adapted from Mike Isaac’s book of the same name by creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the duo behind Showtime’s . Even though the series is about Uber and not so much Huffington’s life and career, that didn’t stop Thurman from diving deep into her real-life counterpart’s background, “to sort of see through her eyes as much as possible,” the actress says, revealing that she’s previously met the author a number of times.

For fans of Showtime’s drama Billions, the upcoming Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber may familiar in more ways than one – from the story of a striving entrepreneur looking to shake up their industry, to some of the talent that appears throughout the second. During a TCA panel on Wednesday, executive producers Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Beth Schacter said that they also felt the similarities upon depicting the rise of Uber for Showtime.
