Renaissance (★★★★☆), an album that, at its core, captures the physicality of the dancefloor and everything that goes along with it.Its story should sound familiar by now: amid the uncertainty of a global pandemic and the claustrophobia of quarantines and lockdowns, an artist longs for the freedom, expression, and human connection of the club and puts out an album inspired by dance music.Although the COVID dance album has become something of a meta-genre at this point, Beyoncé’s take on it is, unsurprisingly, a standout.Renaissance is undeniably a fun dancefloor fantasy, but it works as well as it does because it is made from a place of intimate familiarity with its genre.

Queens Of The Stone Age have announced a second date for Sheffield’s Rock N Roll Circus 2025, along with the full line-ups for the shows.Earlier this week, the Josh Homme-fronted band were unveiled as the headliners for the festival, which is due to take place on August 27 at the city’s Don Valley Bowl.Now, due to “phenomenal demand”, a second gig has been added on August 28. In the filing, they alleged that Bey sampled Big Freedia’s 2014 track ‘Explode’ – however, the latter unlawfully used “copyrighted lyrics, melody, and musical arrangement” from their own track, making the feature in ‘Break My Soul’ unlawful.As well as the ‘Cowboy Carter’ singer, Big Freedia, Sony Music, Jay-Z and more have been named as defendants.Now, it has been confirmed that the copyright lawsuit has been voluntarily dismissed.According to a report by Rolling Stone, the court filing did not mention a settlement agreement, meaning that it is likely that the case was simply dropped.

A subgroup of 1980s hip-hop music, Bounce music has defined much of contemporary hip-hop culture. The series follows New Orleans choirboy-turned-Bounce rapper Freddie “Big Freedia” Ross, Jr., as she juggles new business ventures, touring, and the ups and downs of her personal relationships. This season Freedia begins work on opening a hotel; starts a cannabis line; and prepares to launch her own beauty and fragrance lines. The series will also chronicle the launch of a new album, set to drop later this year.

Waiving a pile of banned books in her arms, she declared her mission to eliminate LGBTQ content from her school library. “I’m a public school teacher in Florida and I won’t stop until I’ve had every single book banned that has LGBTQ content in it,” the actor proclaimed before sifting through her pile of books with “inappropriate” content. “‘Frog and Toad.’ Two male frogs who hang out all the time and they’re just friends?
