People in parts of Greater Manchester where local lockdowns are being lifted should ignore Government advice and continue to follow restrictions, Andy Burnham has said.
The Mayor of Greater Manchester said the easing of coronavirus restrictions in Bolton and Trafford was "completely illogical", and urged people to "continue to follow the guidance" not to have social gatherings in their home.
The Government pressed ahead with the decision to ease restrictions in the two boroughs - despite pleas from local civic leaders that it was too soon to act.
Social gatherings can resume for the first time in weeks from Wednesday in both areas as well as Stockport, Burnley, Hyndburn and parts of Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees.
