Penelope Cruz and Milena Smit coordinate their black and white looks for the premiere of Madres Paralelas during the 2021 Venice International Film Festival on Wednesday (September 1) in Venice, Italy.
The two actresses were joined by Israel Elejalde, Aitana Sanchez-Gijon and director Pedro Almodóvar for the days events, which included a press conference earlier in the day.
Madres Paralelas, or Parallel Mothers, centers on two single women who meet in a hospital room where they are both going to give birth.
One is middle aged and doesn’t regret it, while the other is adolescent and scared. The two women form a strong bond with one another as they both confront motherhood.
