Sir Paul McCartney, 78, rose to fame in British rock band The Beatles, alongside John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.The legendary musician's apology letter to a homeowner after a holiday mishap has gone up for auction after the singer offered to repay the "debt".The singer and his late bandmate George had gone on a hitchhiking holiday where the pair visited Harlech, in Gwynedd, North Wales back in 1958.The duo were teenagers at the time and had become friendly with the Brierley family.The pair were allowed to pitch their tent in the field at the rear of the family's bungalow but late sought refuge in their farmhouse after a sudden downpour, where The Beatles' stars stayed for the week.Paul and George returned to the Brierley's.
