Hull Live reported.The shocking details of Bennett's abuse were laid bare in Hull Crown Court, who heard how he struck the woman repeatedly in front of the young child, choked her and threatened to "cut off her toes one by one" while holding a knife next to her foot.The judge said he subjected his "partner and child to the most frightening ordeal," sentencing him to 25 months in prison.The victim only escaped while the thug slept, slipping off to a nearby police station.

She had attempted to flee the house to report the incident to police on two occasions, but he followed her holding the child and threatening her with his welfare.After the police were finally made aware of the ordeal following a daring escape on the part of the woman, they found Bennett on the toilet at a neighbouring property where he was tasered due to resisting arrest.Hull Crown Court heard how Bennett had a history of paranoia in relationships, often becoming convinced that his partners were cheating on him.On the night of August 13, 2021, he left the shared home, which he had locked and taken the only set of keys, and sent his victim multiple pictures of him with other women in an attempt to make her jealous.Upon returning to the property, the woman decided to try and calm the situation and sit in a chair in the front room, but Bennett proceeded to punch her repeatedly in the side of the head.The woman tried to make breakfast for the child and Bennett came into the kitchen and poured a cheese dunker over her hair continuing his accusations.The victim went to take a shower and returned to the bedroom to find Bennett trying to apologise and initiate sex, later punching her on the vagina as she lay on the bed.
