A sushi restaurant has apologised for publishing an 'inappropriate and offensive' dress code on its website that asked women to wear 'sexy' heels and bodycon dresses.
Beluga Bar is set to launch in Leatherhead, Surrey, later this week - but the Japanese restaurant has already been boycotted by angry locals for its controversial entry requirements.
The restaurant came under fire when people noticed the dress code had very specific requirements for women. People on social media shared screenshots of the website's terms and conditions, blasting them as "out of touch" and "sexist".
The page read: "Dress code is smart casuals with jackets for men, no tracksuits, no t-shirt and women can wear skinny jeans with sexy black ankle-strap heels and with a form-fitting top. "Alternatively, there are many different types of dresses that would look good at a bar in the summer or winter, namely midi or bodycon dresses." The page also stated that there was an invite-only policy and only people on the "selective" guestlist would be let in.
