A paramedic who tested positive for coronavirus has warned it can trigger unusual symptoms after she got it without suffering a cough and high temperature.

Kirstine Adkin said she couldn't taste raw garlic, ground coffee or cinnamon. The 24-year-old NHS medic then lost all sense of smell and taste as she fell sick  with the killer virus.

At first she started with a headache and back ache but put it down to work stress. But her condition deteriorated and she was left struggling to breathe.

The South Western Ambulance Service medic is now warning people to be on the lookout for less obvious' symptoms and to heed Government advice to stay indoors.
