Papa John's has said it will shut down about 50 of its UK pizza shops. The company has over 450 stores in the UK. A Papa John's spokesperson said: "As our second largest global market, Papa John's remains committed to driving growth in the UK. "As mentioned in January, we are undertaking a comprehensive review of our UK-based restaurants to assess viability.
Based on our current analysis, we are planning to close approximately 50 underperforming corporate-owned locations." Read more: 'Are these kebabs really the worst in the world?' The company had its best global sales at the end of 2023.
They made over 1.3 billion US dollars (£1 billion) in just three months. "For any proposed restaurant closures that impact team members, we will work to find alternative roles within Papa John's," the spokesperson added.
