Pamela Hutchinson was a singer with the R&B and disco group the Emotions, known for hits including the Grammy-winning “Best of My Love.”The Emotions were originally formed by Hutchinson’s sisters, Wanda, Sheila and Jeanette.
They performed as a gospel act in their early years, later transitioning to R&B and disco. Hutchinson joined the Emotions in 1977 and debuted on their platinum-selling 1977 album “Rejoice.” The album’s top single, “Best of My Love,” soared to the top of the charts and won the sisters a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
The Emotions collaborated with Earth, Wind & Fire for the 1979 hit “Boogie Wonderland,” earning another Grammy nomination.
