Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in broad daylight near Oxford Street in central London today. It happened in Market Place at a junction with the famous shopping street shortly after 5.30pm.
Images from the scene show a cordon in place as emergency crews treat the victim. A Met spokeswoman said: "Officers attended and found a male suffering from a stab injury. "Emergency services remain at the scene. "There have been no arrests." The man's condition is not yet known.
Transport for London said that Oxford Street's eastbound lane was closed at the junction with Great Portland Street "due to an emergency services incident".
