It is nine years since the terrorist behind the attacks of September 11, 2001, Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces in Pakistan.
But the lack of a body and a number of other apparent inconsistencies surrounding the al-Qaeda leader's death have sparked a number of wild conspiracy theories.
Born into a wealthy Saudi family, he left university in 1979 to join the Islamist Mujahideen forces from Pakistan fighting the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.
He founded al-Qaeda in 1988, and in the 1990s his terror group carried out a number of bombings and other related attacks against the United States.
