Nintendo announces next ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ fighter, Pyra

The 26th annual Art Directors Guild Awards are being handed out right now at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, and Deadline is updating the winners as they’re announced. Check out the list below, followed by remaining nominees.

Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story for 20th Century Studios and FX’s crime drama Snowfall claimed top honors at the Society Of Camera Operators Awards held virtually on Saturday night, with Mitch Dubin, SOC, and “B” Camera John “Buzz” Moyer, SOC taking home the award for Camera Operator of the Year in Film for their work on the former title, and Manolo Rojas, SOC, and “B” Camera Pauline Edwards, SOC claiming Camera Operator of the Year in Television for their work on the eighth episode of the latter’s fourth season.

Gayming Awards premiered exclusively on Twitch last night (February 24), and revealed the winners across nine categories.Hades, Tell Me Why, and If Found… were the big winners of the night, with two awards each.Most of the winners were chosen by an international judging panel of LGBTQ+ video game industry professionals. The LGBTQ Streamer of the Year Award and the Readers’ Award were decided by public vote.Game developer Robert Yang was also presented with the Gayming Icon Award, in recognition of his contribution towards furthering the status and increasing the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in the gaming industry.The awards show, presented by EA, was hosted by comedian Suzi Ruffell.

Star Wars: Republic Commando was announced today for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with a release date of April 6.Announced via trailers on both the Nintendo and PlayStation YouTube pages, the port will feature modernised controls and unlockable trophies.No details were provided on how the port’s visuals compare to the original, although footage shown in the trailer seems to have a similar visual fidelity to the original release.The original Star Wars: Republic Commando’s 16-player multiplayer mode will not be in the port.Originally released on Xbox and Windows in 2005, Star Wars: Republic Commando was developed by LucasArts and featured a campaign which let players assume the role of an elite commando during the Clone Wars.Gameplay is shown

Nintendo have so far not announced the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda on their social media, but fans around the world came together to celebrate under the #Zelda35th tag.In last week’s Nintendo Direct, an HD port of Skyward Sword was announced, but Zelda’s anniversary has not been properly addressed. Following the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario franchise, and the upcoming 25th anniversary of the Pokemon series, Nintendo appeared to have skipped the celebration this time around.The original Legend of Zelda game was released on February 21, 1986, on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Street Fighter characters – Ryu and Chun-Li – are being added to the growing roster of crossover characters in Epic Games’ Fortnite.The two fighters’ induction into the popular battle royale game was revealed via a trailer on Friday, February 19. In the clip, the two fighters prepare to face off against one another in a retro Street Fighter II arcade cabinet, before they’re unceremoniously sucked into the Zero Point.Watch the trailer below.The character skins can be purchased on Saturday, February 20 at 7PM ET/1AM BST via the in-game store.

Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced a remaster of its seminal 2000 game, Diablo II.The announcement was made during the first day of this year’s all-digital BlizzCon event on Friday night (February 19). The remake is dubbed Diablo II: Resurrected, and will release later this year.

No More Heroes 3 has finally been confirmed during last night’s Nintendo Direct presentation (February 17).The game, which will see anti-hero assassin Travis Touchdown battle a race of superhero aliens to stop them from taking over Earth, follows a similar structure to the previous entries. Travis must pay a hefty entry fee by doing odd jobs around town before he can challenge each galactic opponent.Aside from wielding the signature Beam Katana, for the first time, players will also be able to make use of Travis’s Death Glove to activate a variety of skills in battle. There will also be a customisable skill tree so each player can tailor skills to their play style.No More Heroes 3 was previously delayed from its 2020 release.

Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer.Shortly after the presentation, the remasters of the Ninja Gaiden trilogy were also confirmed to be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.The hardcore action compilation includes Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, and “most” of the previously downloadable content.Due to be released on June 10, you can watch Nintendo’s announcement for Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection in the trailer below:Developed by Team Ninja, 2007’s Ninja Gaiden Sigma was an expanded PS3 port of the original Xbox game.2009’s Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 was similarly a later PS3 port of the Xbox 360 game.

Neon White, a new game from Annapurna Interactive, was revealed at last night’s Nintendo Direct presentation (February 17).The game is a fast-paced first-person action platformer set in Heaven.The main character in the game is White, a demon assassin handpicked from Hell to exterminate other demons. Instead of guns, users can choose a suite of abilities from a deck of cards.

Super Mario-themed items and outfits are coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March.After a Super Mario 35th anniversary crossover was first confirmed during an update in January, last night’s Nintendo Direct presentation (February 17) finally showcased what it would entail.The clip shows players dressed up in Super Mario outfits, including for Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Princess Peach, at 26 minutes exactly.Familiar items from the Mushroom Kingdom, including question blocks, power mushrooms, and coins, can be placed around the island. It’s also possible to place two warp pipes around the island as a way to travel between locations.The Animal Crossing crossover is included as a free downloadable update from February 25.

Star Wars: Hunters has been officially revealed for Nintendo Switch with a short teaser.The clip for the new Star Wars game appeared on the Nintendo Direct presentation last night (February 17).While the clip did not feature any gameplay footage, it included holograms of recognisable Star Wars characters, including a Jedi knight, a bounty hunter, a wookie, and a stormtrooper.Check out the clip here: The official website confirmed that Star Wars: Hunters is a team-based competitive arena combat game from Zynga and LucasFilm Games.Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Star Wars: Hunters features arenas based on iconic settings from the franchise’s universe.

Nintendo have announced a new tactical RPG, tentatively titled Project Triangle Strategy.The RPG is set to be released on Nintendo Switch in 2022.The game was announced as part of the Nintendo Direct presentation yesterday (February 17).

Nintendo has announced Splatoon 3 for the Nintendo Switch, and given it a 2022 release window.The game was announced to wrap up the February 17 Nintendo Direct presentation. The announcement trailer suggests that the game will take a more narrative-driven approach, depicting an inkling travelling by train to new locations in the game, such as a barren desert, and a metropolitan city.

Annapurna Interactive’s 2019 space exploration game Outer Wilds has been announced for the Nintendo Switch.The announcement was made during the Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday night (February 17). A firm release date has not been announced, although the game has received a launch window of Summer 2021.In the sci-fi game, players are given 22 minutes to explore space before the universe is engulfed in a supernova.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will arrive on the Nintendo Switch this Summer.The news was revealed during the Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday night (February 17) via a new trailer. The short clip finds two jellybeans stumbling upon Joy-Cons, and then racing to connect them to a Nintendo Switch console.A firm release date for the game’s arrival on Nintendo’s console has yet to be announced.

Nintendo has revealed that the next entry in the Mario Golf series, Mario Golf Super Rush, will release for Nintendo Switch on June 25.It was unveiled in a trailer during the Nintendo Direct event held yesterday evening (February 17). Featuring a familiar cast of characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario Golf Super Rush will be the first in the series to release on Nintendo Switch, bringing with it several new features.For the first time ever, players will be able to play Mario Golf using motion controls.

Nintendo has announced that a remaster for 2011’s The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be released for the Nintendo Switch this Summer.The announcement was made during the Nintendo Direct presentation on Wednesday night (February 17). The remaster, titled The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, will release on July 16, and is available for pre-order now.
