Nigel Clough losing Burton job "unimportant" compared to 9,000 Rolls Royce job cuts

Nigel Clough says surrendering his job at Burton is a drop in the ocean compared to the 9,000 Rolls Royce job cuts. The 54-year-old resigned as boss of the League One club this week along with assistant Gary Crosby and chief scout Simon – his brother.

They threw themselves on their swords to allow The Brewers to cope with ever increasing financial constraints following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The bulk of the aviation giant's job losses will be from their plant in Derby – Clough's home town - and many of Burton's fans will be directly affected by the job losses.
