Nicola Sturgeon put a cat among the pigeons when she declared a Jaffa Cake to ‘definitely’ be a biscuit earlier today. The First Minister re-ignited a lengthy debate over the sweet food item during the Scottish Government’s coronavirus press briefing.
Sturgeon was asked to clarify the Government’s definition of a cafe amid new restrictions coming into force from this evening.
The Government announced that cafes in the central belt are allowed to remain open while pubs and restaurants would close under the measures.
However, members of the public and businesses were left a tad confused over which cafes and restaurants could continue to welcome customers from tomorrow.
