The NHS is under pressure to offer coronavirus jabs 24 hours a day in an effort to vaccinate nearly 15 million at risk people by mid February.

Matt Hancock said round the clock inoculations are "absolutely" on the table if needed, with the Health Secretary adding: "We will do whatever it takes to get this vaccine rolled out as fast as possible." A detailed road map for delivering what is the most ambitious programme of vaccinations ever undertaken in the UK was laid out by ministers on Monday.

It aims to see 14.6 million of Britain's most vulnerable given their first jab within five weeks by February 15 with the help of seven mass vaccination centres across the country.
