Screenshot via KTTV Fox 11 SACRAMENTO – California Governor Gavin Newsom issued new guidance Friday on the re-opening of the state’s schools, saying that if the schools are in counties that have stayed off the state’s monitoring list for 14 days, in-person instruction could commence in August. “Learning is non-negotiable,” Newsom told reporters during his Friday noon press conference. “The virus will be with us for a year or more, and school districts must provide meaningful instruction in the midst of this pandemic.
In California, health data will determine when a school can be physically open – and when it must close – but learning should never stop.
