He said this total was “the highest in the nation.” The previous record came on July 7 of 11,694.He said 35 counties in the state — up from 33 — are now on the state’s watchlist.The 7 day positivity rate of tests in California is 7.6 percent, about where it was last week.California now has 413,576 confirmed cases of COVID-19, resulting in 7,870 deaths.
The number of COVID-related deaths increased by 1.5 percent from Monday’s total of 7,755. The number of COVID-19 diagnostic test results in California reached a total of 6,664,419 an increase of 127,487 tests since Monday.
