baby boy who has been found dead and left outside a fire station may have 'frozen to death'.According to the Chicago Police Department, police officers had been called to the station at around 5am after firefighters found a baby boy just steps away from the fire station.By the time he was found, he had already passed away.It's not yet clear how long the baby had been outside and his cause of death has not been confirmed.

Dawn Geras from the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation believes the baby must have 'froze to death'.She said: "If the baby was placed there alive, that baby froze to death.

You can't leave a baby out to the elements."President of the foundation, Dawn raised after 20 years of pushing for the Safe Haven law and getting the word out, she's 'devastated' by the news.The Illinois Safe Haven law allows parents to leave their baby - less than 30 days old - with workers at designated locations, including hospitals and emergency care facilities, with no questions asked.Dawn said: "It makes me feel like I failed.

There was one other woman out there who didn't know about the law or how to use it, and because of that, there's a dead baby on the door steps of a fire house.
