New stats show half of Covid19 deaths in South Lanarkshire last week were in care homes
dailyrecord.co.ukHalf of coronavirus deaths in South Lanarkshire last week were in the region's care homes.Figures released by the National Records of Scotland today (Wednesday, April 29) revealed another 50 people died from COVID-19 in South Lanarkshire - with 25 of those in care homes.That brings the total number of deaths in the area to 153, with 62 of those occurring in the region's care homes.In North Lanarkshire, 158 people have died from COVID-19 but just 50 of those occurred in care homes.Lanarkshire as a whole remains the third-worst hit health board area in Scotland from coronavirus.Another 83 people in the county died as a result of the virus last week bringing the total number of deaths in Lanarkshire from the pandemic to 311, or 4.7 per 10,000
