Ayrshire. Figures released by the National Records of Scotland show that 613 Ayrshire death certificates have mentioned COVID-19 since the pandemic began.But until recently South Ayrshire had recorded the highest number of Covid-linked deaths.New data released yesterday shows that North Ayrshire has overtaken the neighbouring region.North Ayrshire recorded 18 coronavirus deaths between January 4 and January 10 taking the area's total to 226.East Ayrshire reported 17 Covid deaths during the same period with the region's total at 176.But figures show that no virus deaths were registered in South Ayrshire in the same period and the total remains at 211.A total of 7,074 deaths have been registered in Scotland where coronavirus was mentioned on.
