The directors of Netflix’s Audrie and Daisy documentary have paid tribute to Daisy Coleman following her tragic death this week. Daisy died by suicide at the age of 23 with her devastated mother Melinda announcing the sad news on Wednesday.
According to Melinda, Daisy ‘never recovered’ from the rape she was allegedly subjected to in 2012 when she was just 14. The sexual assault case was explored in the 2016 film Audrie and Daisy, directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk.
Reacting to the youngster’s death, they said: ‘It is with a heavy heart and a deep sadness that we write to you today. Two nights ago, we learned that Daisy Coleman died by suicide.
