NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine has said that at this stage there is “only a 50/50 chance” of the SpaceX Falcon being able to launch this afternoon.
Speaking on the space agency’s official live stream NASA’s administrator warned that the threat of lightning storms in the region of the Kennedy Space Centre could make it too dangerous to launch the craft.
The Weather Channel says there is an 80% chance of scattered thunderstorms near Kennedy Space Centre this afternoon, and rain is already falling on the launchpad.
