The 44-year-old was finally released after she spent the last six years detained in Iran under false spying charges and her comments upon release have sparked backlash.She spoke at a press conference: “I have seen five foreign secretaries change over the course of six years, that is unprecedented.
I was told many times: ‘We're going to get you home,’ and that never really happened”She continued: “How many foreign secretaries does it take to get someone home?

What happened now should have happened six years ago.”Many have deemed her critical comments as controversial and after the press conference was broadcasted, public outcry ensued.Social media platform Twitter exploded with abuse towards the false-detainee and “ungrateful cow” began trending.Twitter users thought that she should have shown more gratitude for her release, rather than anger that her freedom took so long to obtain.
