Mum talked 19-year-old son into murder so she could inherit large fortune

Alton, Staffordshire. Purchase convinced the two teens to murder 61-year-old Gregory in 2007, reports Birmingham Live.44-year-old Thelma was named as the main beneficiary in Gregory's will due to being his sole carer.She decided to kill him so she could inherit the large sum of £60,000 early.

The two teenagers entered and smothered him with his pillow and the trio were convicted after a month-long trial. Purchase - who orchestrated the vile crime - was sentenced to a minimum sentence of 30 years.

Rudge and his friend, of Cliveden Place, Longton, were handed minimum terms of 18 and 20 years respectively for their part in the murder.
