Mum says she can't take her newborn child down stairs because home has been plagued with problems

A Salford mum says she can't take her newborn downstairs at her home because of multiple maintenance issues. Laura Worthington, 33, says her home in Weaste has been plagued with problems for ‘almost a year’.

Laura, who lives in a council house managed by For Housing, says her problems began when a leak appeared in her kitchen — with water coming from the upstairs bathroom.

In investigating the issue, contractors have also discovered asbestos in the downstairs ceiling. To make matters worse, Laura’s radiators have been taken off her walls in another maintenance issue — rendering her home ‘cold’.

It’s left her fearful to bring her weeks-old baby downstairs, she told the Manchester Evening News.
