Brendan O'Carroll made hit show Mrs Brown's Boys a family affair, writing both son Danny and daughter Fiona in as main characters.
But the creator and star of the enduringly popular BBC series has now opened up about the tragic death of his firstborn son Brendan, who died just a few days after his birth in 1979.
The Irish comic said he believed he would one day his oldest child again, following Brendan's death as an infant from complications caused by spina bifida in 1979.
Brendan said that he also dreamed of being reunited with his sister Fiona, who died this summer, and his mother, who died when he was 28.
