Missing Australian fishermen have been found alive after spending nearly a week lost at sea, and hours after an official search was called off.
Derek Robinson, 48, and Tony Higgins, 57, were discovered on Thursday morning local time floating in their boat around Salt Creek, south-east of Goolwa.
Their 10 metre wooden-hulled fishing boat had conked out after experiencing engine trouble with searchers giving up on finding the pair alive before they managed to contact the police.
They were subsequently picked up by rescue crews with their boat being towed by a Police Rescue vessel and is due at Victor Harbour at midday today.
