A granddad was left lying on the pavement in agony and in desperate need of hospital treatment after a "mindless" attack left him with a broken jaw.
Dennis Crowe had challenged a motorist who "nearly hit him" with his car, before things reportedly turned violent. The 72-year-old had been walking home from the pub when a speeding Astra came shooting round the corner, leading to the pensioner confronting the driver.
He was punched twice during the incident in Ellesmere Park, Eccles, on Friday evening, reports the Manchester Evening News. An ambulance was then only called after a passer-by rushed to help Mr Crowe.
