Millions of people have been unable to access essential food items amid the ongoing HGV crisis across the UK. A study from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) found that one in six adults - which represents up to eight million people in the UK - have struggled to find the essentials in the last two weeks.
It also found that one in three people have started to stockpile ahead of the festive season, the Mirror reports. Two-thirds of Brits are said to be worried or very worried about potential shortages ahead of the Christmas period, according to a survey from The Grocer.
