Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has reportedly identified his first choice target to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if leaves this summer.
The Gabon international’s contract at the Emirates expires at the end of next season and there has been no indication yet that he will sign fresh terms.
Aubameyang has been the Gunners’ most important player since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, scoring 61 goals in 97 games in all competitions.
But Arteta may be forced to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for nothing at a later date, something that has happened too often at the club.
