Mike Ashley looks set to sell Newcastle for around £300m after a breakthrough in talks. A consortium led by Amanda Staveley is closing in on an agreement with the controversial football owner.
If the deal goes through, Ashley will not be missed by Newcastle fans as he departs. The retail tycoon has no love with the Toon faithful, who have frequently protested against his ownership.
