Michaela Strachan has admitted she is ‘heartbroken’ to be missing this year’s Springwatch. However, the presenter – who is is currently in South Africa and unable to return to the UK because of lockdown – will still have a very important ‘input’ according to her co-stars, so we can now all breathe a sigh of relief.

The much-loved BBC nature series will adapt its typical format in order to accommodate the hosts keeping within social distancing guidelines.

Although Michaela is stuck in Cape Town with her family due to the coronavirus travel restrictions, her Springwatch co-star Iolo Williams has promised she will have an ‘input.’ Chris Packham, on the other hand, joked he will finally get his time to shine now that Michaela’s gone.
