A mental health group from West Lothian has been named the charity partner for this year’s Gig in the Goil.David Phillip from East Calder started Behind Your Mind (BYM) last year after discovering a similar project in Glasgow when he was battling his own mental health issues.One of BYM’s service users has a relative who works at Gig in the Goil and they offered to help with funding.
They will receive a cut from programme sales and will also be on site at the festival in May to raise mental health awareness.Gig at the Goil spokesperson Ross Coutts said: “When we came to deciding this year’s partner charity for Gig in the Goil, we found it the perfect opportunity to get Behind Your Mind involved.
