Meghan Markle says Prince Harry saved her life after she was left feeling like she "didn't want to be alive anymore". The Duchess confessed she had dark thoughts during her time in the royal family, saying she "thought it would have solved everything for everyone".

During her interview with Oprah Winfrey, she claims that she went to "the institution" to say she needed help but was told she wasn't allowed to.

Meghan said she was "ashamed" to admit it at the time – but "knew that if she didn't say it she would do it". She says it was a "real and frightening and constant thought" but that Prince Harry saved her before they quit the royal family a year ago.
