McDonald’s drive-thru could re-open during the coronavirus lockdown as it was "made" for social distancing, a minister has claimed.
Junk food fans were given a lifeline by Environment Secretary ,George Eustice, at the May 8 Number 10 Covid-19 briefing on Friday.
Ahead of Boris Johnson's lockdown-extending announcement on Sunday, Mr Eustice suggested the chain could return to the high street sooner rather than later.
Mr Eustice said it is "quite possible" for takeaway restaurants to operate safely the pandemic if it is “safe” for them to do so.
