The woman who stalked Matthew Wright for seven months has been handed a restraining order. Michelle Ranicar made threats to snatch the The Wright Stuff presenter’s baby last year but avoided a jail sentence today.

During the hearing at Wood Green Crown Court, Judge Jeremy Benson QC said: ‘You must understand that the cumulative effect on Mr and Mrs Wright was that they were fearful, didn’t feel safe, they were worried about their baby, and they were worried about what you might do.‘Over a long period of time, you made their lives a misery.’ Matthew, 55, and his wife Amelia, 42, were not present at the hearing.
