Football fans will be cheering as Match of the Day is set to kick off again – but as a podcast. The popular BBC1 show, which was axed as a result of the coronavirus crisis, will feature Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Ian Wright reunited.
But rather than in the familiar Beeb TV studio, the series will be recorded in Gary’s kitchen. With no football scheduled until at least April 3, fans were distraught after the BBC announced it would be pulling Match of the Day from its regular slot on Saturday nights.
And, for many, things only got worse when the broadcaster revealed Gary and co would be replaced by comedy series Mrs Brown’s Boys.
